# Troubleshooting & FAQ

Common problems and questions for ace\_buildingmenu.

## Troubleshooting

<details>

<summary>"Not near a supply zone" / I can't build anywhere</summary>

With `RealismMode = true` and `UsePlayerMatsForBuild = false`, players can only build **inside a zone** that has enough materials. Either:

* Stand inside a static zone from `Config.ResupplyStations` (radius `ZoneRadius`), or deploy a zone, or
* Set `UsePlayerMatsForBuild = true` so players build anywhere with the materials they carry, or
* Set `RealismMode = false` (Simple Mode).

</details>

<details>

<summary>Players can't deploy supply zones</summary>

Check all of these:

* `AllowDeployableZones = true`
* If `OnlySLCanDeployZones = true`, the player's identifier is in `SquadLeaders`
* The player is at least `MinDistanceToDeployNewZone` away from existing zones
* The *Deployable Supply Point* prop is still in `TechStructuresObjects` and uses the model set in `SupplyPointPropModel`

</details>

<details>

<summary>"You cannot carry more than X building materials"</summary>

The player hit `PlayerMaxBuildingMaterial`. Raise the value, or deposit materials into a zone.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Objects float or sink into the ground</summary>

Adjust the prop's `zoffset` in `Config.Props`. If `AllowUpDownControl = true`, players can also move objects vertically.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Props appear invisible or take a long time to load</summary>

The resource streams large models. Give clients time to finish downloading, and make sure the resource started without streaming errors in the server console.

</details>

## FAQ

<details>

<summary>Can I remove a category?</summary>

Yes. Set it to `false` in `Config.AllowedCategories`.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I add my own props?</summary>

Yes. Add an entry to the right category in `Config.Props`. See [Props](/docs/tactical-and-military/building-menu/configuration.md#props).

</details>

<details>

<summary>Is a framework required?</summary>

No. Squad leaders are defined by player identifiers in the config, and the resource doesn't use a framework, inventory or database.
