# Common Issues

Problems that affect any AceStudios resource, and how to fix them.

Check the product's own **Troubleshooting & FAQ** page first. This page covers problems shared by every resource.

## Escrow & startup

<details>

<summary>"You lack the required entitlement to use this resource" / resource won't load</summary>

The resource is protected by Cfx.re Asset Escrow and is tied to the Cfx.re account that bought it.

* Your server's `sv_licenseKey` must come from the **same** Cfx.re account that owns the asset.
* Download the resource from the [Cfx Portal](https://portal.cfx.re) with that account. A copy from someone else won't work.
* Update your server artifacts if they're old.

</details>

<details>

<summary>"Failed to verify protected resource" / encrypted file errors</summary>

An escrowed file was changed or corrupted. Download a fresh copy from the Cfx Portal and only edit the files meant for editing, such as `config.lua`, locales and bridges. Don't edit files like `LockedConfig.lua`.

</details>

<details>

<summary>"Could not find dependency … for resource …"</summary>

A required dependency is missing or starts later. Check the [dependency matrix](/docs/getting-started/requirements.md#dependency-matrix) and put dependencies **above** the AceStudios resource in `server.cfg`.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Items do nothing / "No such export"</summary>

Almost always one of these:

1. **The folder was renamed.** Item exports use the resource name, for example `ace_advanced_multipacks.aceopenpack_backpack`.
2. **Wrong start order.** Advanced MultiPacks and Serial Scratcher must start **before** `ox_inventory`. See [ox\_inventory Items](/docs/guides/ox-inventory-items.md#start-order).
3. **Wrong export type.** Serial Scratcher uses `server.export`. The others use `client.export`.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Framework / inventory not detected</summary>

Auto-detection only sees resources that are already started. Start your framework, inventory, target, garage and key resources **before** AceStudios resources, or set the value manually in the config. See [Framework Support](/docs/guides/framework-support.md).

</details>

## Configuration

<details>

<summary>Changes to config.lua do nothing</summary>

* Restart the resource (`restart <resource>`) or the server after editing.
* Check the server console for Lua syntax errors, such as a missing comma or an unclosed `{`. A single syntax error stops the whole config from loading.
* Some settings are read only at startup (for example item generation), so a full server restart may be needed.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Key names don't work</summary>

Key options use FiveM key-mapper names such as `'E'`, `'LSHIFT'`, `'LMENU'` (Left Alt), `'RBRACKET'` and `'slash'`. See the [FiveM keyboard reference](https://docs.fivem.net/docs/game-references/input-mapper-parameter-ids/keyboard/). A few options take a numeric control ID instead, for example `SkipControl = 38` in Advanced Knockout.

</details>

## Streaming & NUI

<details>

<summary>Props, clothing or textures are invisible</summary>

* Let the client finish downloading. Several resources stream large files (Building Menu is about 200 MB, and Advanced Knockout's MP4 dream videos are about 180 MB).
* Check the server console for streaming errors when the resource starts.
* Two resources streaming a file with the same name conflict. For example, Squad-Link V2 streams `minimap.ytd`.

</details>

<details>

<summary>NUI (menus, overlays, sounds) doesn't appear</summary>

Open the client F8 console and look for JavaScript or network errors. Don't edit NUI files in resources that verify their integrity, such as the P2P Vehicle Marketplace.

</details>
